A Discussion on Accents

My father, like many immigrants to the US, won't hesitate to tell you that learning the English language was difficult for him.

30 years after his arrival, he can speak clear-cut English, albeit with an accent that, at times, is joked upon by his colleagues.

I managed to have him express his thoughts about his "second language", and to pass along some insights as to how he manages a healthy balance between his adopted home and his roots.
